The March Android Security Bulletin is a Case Study for Maintaining Your Tech

Another month, another batch of security updates. Google has been busy squashing 43 bugs in Android, and—surprise, surprise—two of them were zero-day vulnerabilities. That means bad actors could’ve been exploiting them before Google even knew what was up. Obviously, this isn’t good and highlights why it’s important to keep your software updated.

Before you start panicking and throwing your phone out the window, let’s talk about what this means for you and your business.

Updating Your Android: It’s Easy

If you haven’t already been nagged by a notification to install this update, it’s coming. Google rolls out these patches to the Android Open Source Project and Pixel phones, while other manufacturers get a friendly nudge to implement them.

Not sure if your device is updated? Just head over to Settings > About phone > System update. If an update is waiting, go ahead and install it. Easy, right?

Your Business Tech Needs These Updates

At Accucom, we’re all about keeping your technology in top shape. Whether it’s your work computers, servers, or that smart fridge in the breakroom (seriously, those need updates too), staying current is key to security and efficiency.

Everyone knows that the frequency of software updates can be annoying. They pop up at the worst times, take forever to install, and sometimes break more than they fix. That’s why businesses should have an actual strategy for testing and rolling out updates, rather than clicking the Remind me later option continuously.

Don’t Want to Deal with It? That’s Where We Come In

Your time is better spent running your business, not playing IT technician. Accucom keeps an eye on all your business tech, ensuring that updates are installed properly. If that sounds good to you, wait until you hear about everything else we can do. Give us a call at (02) 8825-5555 to start the conversation today.
